Where are the videos or phoros of this giant heap. I don't want to see artist renderings, photographs of trash washed up on a beach or random floating bits here and there, no fancy computer graphics and maps. I would like to see some real aerial photography of the actual Great Pacific Garbage Patch. I have read stories that say it is twice the size of Texas, and some that say it is twice the size of the entire US. Either way, I think something like that would be VERY visible from the sky. Why are there no actual photographs of it?? Probably because it's pure bs.

Why is there not a law that all plastic's be banned. That more re-cyling is done, and laws passed that will stop the posioning of our world.
This is our earth, without it we will all die.Why does not government do something so it does not get out into the ocean.

A thought just occurred to me. If we could figure a way to make the floating garbage recyclable or as an actual "resource" with value to industry... i.e., convert it to some other form of energy, then maybe corporate greed would drive a cleanup. Just a thought. Similar to the idea of burning garbage in place of coal and other fossil fuels to generate electricity.

seeing these images just shocked me. We used to treat rivers and lakes as dumping grounds; when that become too much, we had to clean up those waterways. Right way, we see the ocean as an infinite sink for our pollutants, waste, and plastic bottles. This must change. Lest the earth choke under the weight of modern, mechanised man.
