The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey of likely voters, Democrat Obama is ahead 53 percent to 46 percent. Among registered voters, Obama’s lead is even larger — 55 percent to 42 percent over Republican John McCain.

That lead is up 2 percentage points among likely voters and 3 among registered voters from two weeks ago.

The poll was conducted Thursday through Sunday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points among likely voters and 3 points among registered voters.

The daily Diageo-Hotline tracking poll has Obama up 50 percent to 45 percent among likely voters. That poll was conducted over the same three days and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.

A lot of money and a lot of time. Obama’s campaign is pulling out the stops in a closing arguement to the country. Is it worth it? Is it just icing on a very publicized cake?

Obama’s team bought time on CBS, NBC and Fox for about $1 million per network and reach a television audience of millions.

The spot airs at 8 p.m. EDT. So no worries World Series Fans!
