There is so much worry and angst in the world lately. Economic and Geo-political events are trying to unravel our collective conscience of peace, harmony, and love. We are suggesting we can stem the tide through random acts of kindness, sending light, giving thanks, and praying for peace. Laugh. Sing. Dance. Create art. In every way we can. Let us use May 15th as a way to remind ourselves what the power of love and fun can do. Please share this with all your friends. Blog. Tweet. Sing.
Amen

You know,you know you are
Be still and know you are
Your life is meant for joy
It’s all so deep within, oh

Your life is beautiful
A seed becomes a tree
A mountain into a sky
This life is meant to be, oh

“Be Still” – The Beach Boys

I don’t know about you, but when things aren’t going my way I try everything in my arsenal of self help; mantras, books, meditations, and affirmations. Usually they work, when they don’t I want to slam my forehead into my well used copy of the “The Secret.” It doesn’t occur to me that patience with myself is one of the most efficient paths to stress reduction that I know.

I am one of those people that believes that coming up with solutions is better than complaining and whining any time. My problem is that I don’t suffer well. I expect solutions to come instantaneously and the problem with that is I am really not listening.

God has a great way of answering questions, it is pretty simplistic. Yes, no, and wait. The last part is the toughest because it requires faith. Thinking positively is pretty useless without faith. My dog Angel has plenty of faith, she knows that when you say “treat” we’re going to give her a little snack. She doesn’t worry about what kind of snack or if it is a big enough snack. Me on the other hand, worries how many snacks, will I get enough snacks, and if they are organic. All that worrying has gotten me nowhere. My stepdaughter also has non-complicated tools for dealing with this type of stress, it is called play. Kids can find joy in staring at a bug, coloring a picture, or singing to themselves. In these moments Cassandra is the perfect picture of self-awareness and joy.

So for today, I think I will go have a snack and sing to myself ( I don’t care if the snack is organic).

ph-news09-1cDuring this time of unease and conflict many of us wonder who will stand by us? When was the last time you really stood by someone?

The turmoil of life gives us extraordinary opportunities to practice random acts of kindness. Maybe we get peace of mind buy bringing peace to others. Maybe we will find love when we give love to others.

We can do this today in so many ways. Pay for the toll for the person behind you. Open the door for someone. Write an appreciative note. Say hi when you don’t have to. Maybe sing. Yea sing from the heart. For today sing from the heart.

This video made my heart sing . Let me know if yours does!

People have you heard of the world plangod2_1031a1

To “Let the arrow fly first without the bow”
Guru Dev’s wisdom is just the thing…
To save mankind from all this suffering
Maharishi gives a lift to every man’s bible
Bringin’ us the
news of the new revival

“He Come Down” – The Beach Boys

What does God want?  That I believe is a fair question. What does God need?  How can omnipotent, timeless, and all knowing deity need anythingDoes this source require worship?

There are those who would say read the Bible. Yet the Bible has messages of  fear and angst that tend to work against a loving concept of God

“No one who has been emasculated by crushing or cutting may enter the assembly of the Lord” – Deuteronomy 23:1 . Gosh, if you have your testicles blown off  by a landmine “NO SOUP FOR YOU“.

Does universal wisdom come with it an appetite for war and destruction?

There is not a township but We shall destroy it ere the Day of Resurrection, or punish it with dire punishment. That is set forth in the Book (of Our decrees). – Qur’an Surah 17:58

Its just a thought, but why would God need to wreck such havoc in the world. Is fear of retribution the only way we’ll listen? Don’t get me wrong, I think contact with God is important. My God is so loving and is the only being I know that won’t judge me and takes me warts and all. This Deity doesn’t require me to do anything  for him/her but will instead talk to me if i’ll just listen. These words are filled with loving wisdom and hope. My God doesn’t say ostracize all who are unlike you, so I may round them up and smite them.

I think its time for all religions to sit together and rethink why we are all here. Tolerance is a gift that God has given us to change our world. God is a source for growth. A source of communication.

If we have free will, why would a Supreme being interfere? I don’t think God requires anything. The source is all. Is everything.

Wait I  think God may require one thing. Asking. Thats what starts the “conversation” . Today converse with God. Become a prophet. A prophet who shows acceptance and random acts of kindness.

Please comment I would love to hear your input…

amen.

Southern Poverty Law Center is an amazing organization that once again is in the headlines for unfortunate reasons.
Their web site is extremely informative and certainly worth looking at even if you are not interested in donating to them.
They fight against all forms of prejudice and fight for the rights of everyone, especially the most vulnerable.
Truly worth checking out if you have never heard of them.

Dear Friend,

Over the last few days, we’ve been swamped with requests for information about the two neo-Nazi skinheads who planned a murderous rampage ending with the assassination of Barack Obama. We’ve been consulted by law enforcement because of our expertise.

We reported on our website that one of the skinheads involved was affiliated with a newly formed organization called the Supreme White Alliance (SWA).

The SWA is headed by a man named Steven Edwards, who is steeped in a violent culture of racial extremism. We’ve been following his activities for some time. You can find out more about Edwards in a report by ABC’s Nightline that aired last night.

The skinheads’ plot to kill Obama and murder other African Americans is a chilling reminder of the threat posed by these domestic terrorists.

Unfortunately, I fear we’re entering a dangerous period. Obama’s candidacy has aroused fierce passions among white supremacists. And during times of economic hardship, minorities are often targeted as scapegoats for our country’s problems.

We cannot afford to take threats like this lightly. With your help, we’re doing everything we can to track and expose violent racists — and we’ll continue providing the best intelligence available to law enforcement.

Thanks for being on our team. With your moral and financial support, we’ll continue this important fight against the forces of hate and intolerance.

Morris Dees photo Sincerely,
Morris Dees

I was waking up from a cable news stupor the other day with the remote in my hand flipping back and forth between Fox News and MSNBC.  It was Obama this, McCain that, Obama this, MCain that. And what I started to notice was that the McCain campaign seemed to be defending it’s position and the Obama campaign seemed to be promoting it’s position. Most of you that know me know that I’m and advocate for positive thinking, or at least promoting what you want instead of what you don’t want.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not anti-McCain, I believe in his own way he can be a very independent thinker, but to focus on everything that Obama doesn’t have or couldn’t do seems to take away from any message that  he’s really trying to promote. I believe that is part of the reason Hillary lost the democratic nomination.  She focused more on what she didn’t want instead of what she wanted.  I appreciate Obama for trying to keep a more positive message. Change is a positive message. Keeping things the status quo is non-energetic, even malignant.  It’s my hope that McCain would stop focusing on Obama’s weaknesses and rather focus on his own strengths. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that Obama seems to attract a lot of younger voters. The younger voters seem to be more up-beat, positive, happier and full of hope. That my friends, is contagious.

You may not believe me when I say this, I used to be an avid Fox News viewer from Steve Doocey to Sean Hannity. I’ve noticed over the last couple of months that I seem to hear or see is an anti-Obama message and I believe that doesn’t help McCain at all.  I think the media forgets that we no longer are as stupid as we were in the ’70s and ’80s. Most of us are able to make are own decisions.  Like attracts like. For the first time since I can remember, the American populace has a more positive vent in this election process than ever before. If Obama can still surf the wave of positivity he will be the next president of the United States. If John McCain can grab a board and ride the same wave then it’s up for grabs. This is an overall general feeling. Both sides have their pros and cons, but for right now it looks as if Barack has been focusing more on the pros.
